The internet is a rich source of material for educators, but it is difficult in this demanding profession to find the time to discover the best sites. After hundreds of hours scouring the internet for the best of the best, we have identified the top twenty most useful free internet resources for special educators.

The top twenty sites were chosen based on the following criteria:
1. the website contains meaningful information for teachers
2. the website is organized, allowing for easy navigation
3. the website effectively achieves the intended purpose
The top twenty sites were then broken down into 5 main categories:
1. Classroom Materials
2. Assessment Resources
3. Educational Law
4. Assistive Technology
5. Free Downloadable Software
*Each category also contains a "hot list" which is a list of sites that were
deemed good, but not good enough to make our top twenty.
